Build a private book.
Turn great rides into regulars. Repeat riders can request you again, so your client relationships stay with you.
For drivers / Pre-launch
Hansom is being built around a private client book of business—not an endless stream of anonymous pings. Repeat riders can stay matched with you, you keep 100% of every fare and tip, and the planned model protects your time with a $1.50-per-mile minimum for drives you accept. You pay one flat planned $150/month driver membership instead of giving up a percentage of every fare. We haven't launched yet, so this page builds the driver waitlist ahead of it.
Interest list only. This is not a driver application, job offer, or agreement to provide transportation. Any figures on this page — including pricing examples — are illustrative, not final, and may change before launch. No account, billing, or onboarding exists yet. If Hansom moves toward launch, driver activation will be demand-backed rather than automatic.
The model
Here's the exact difference between the two models — and why it changes what you take home.
01 / Your clients
Turn great rides into regulars. Repeat riders can request you again, so your client relationships stay with you.
02 / Your floor
The planned rule is simple: never accept a drive below $1.50 per paid passenger mile. Your time should have a floor.
03 / Your take-home
Keep 100% of your fare and tip. One flat monthly fee replaces the percentage cut taken from every ride on traditional platforms.
A typical rideshare app
~20–25%
taken off every fare, before you ever see it — the more you drive, the more they take.
Hansom (planning estimate)
100%
of your fare and tip is yours. Instead of a per-ride cut, you pay one flat platform fee, planned at $150/month — that number isn't finalized yet, but the structure is: no commission, ever.
The plan is for repeat riders to be able to request and stay matched with drivers they already know. Instead of every ride being an anonymous one-off ping, good rides turn into regulars — a real book of business, built without ever leaving the platform.
How activation is planned
Every rider is welcome to join the interest list. This provisional planning floor protects the insurance and operating exposure of an active driver. The standard path is 8 paid $35/month rider memberships; a smaller high-usage, private, or corporate book can qualify when its paid membership and usage revenue reaches the same floor.
No clients required to join this list.Applications remain provisional until launch criteria are reviewed.
No fleet requirement or luxury-brand gatekeeping. Drive the vehicle you already own — a clean, well-kept car qualifies, and plenty of non-luxury models already look and feel the part.
The model is built around scheduled and recurring bookings, not just reactive on-demand pings — so you can plan a real day instead of waiting on the app.
Zero per-ride commission — a flat monthly platform fee replaces the cut every other platform takes out of your fare.
Hansom plans to provide the TNC liability coverage for matched rides as part of the network. You would still maintain any personal auto insurance and vehicle coverage required by your carrier and policy. Final coverage is subject to broker review and launch approvals.
Rides are matched and tracked in-app, so there's no reason to take side deals off-app that leave you and the rider uninsured.
You keep your own fare and build repeat riders, so there's a direct incentive to keep your car and service in great shape — not just clear a minimum rating.
Sample earnings
Every figure below runs the same math: your selected per-mile charge — defaulting to $2.00/mile — minus the flat $150.00/month platform fee and an estimated $0.67/mile for gas, maintenance, and wear (the IRS standard mileage rate). No per-ride commission, no hidden cut, and no flat base fare.

*Client and mileage ranges mirror the sign-up form's own categories and are shown together as illustrative pairings of overall driving volume — the private-client count isn't mathematically derived from the sample mileage, since trip mix varies by driver.
Estimate your own numbers
Larger vehicles may need a higher per-mile charge to account for operating costs. The planning range is $1.50–$5.00/mile.
Est. net profit / month
$1,446.00
Planning estimates, not a guarantee. These figures use the published per-mile charge selected above, the current planning fee of $150.00/month, and the IRS standard mileage rate as a stand-in for fuel, maintenance, and depreciation — none of which are locked in yet, and actual per-mile costs vary by vehicle. The $1.50–$5.00range is a planning control, not a final pricing policy. "Paid passenger miles" means miles while carrying a fare; unpaid miles driven between rides aren't included and would lower actual take-home further. Insurance and other driver expenses aren't factored in either. Actual results depend on ride volume, trip length, and final pricing at launch.
Join the driver interest list
The questions below are optional and help us plan. Drivers can share interest before they have a full client book; if Hansom moves toward launch, activation will depend on recurring rider demand and final coverage requirements. Nothing here commits you to anything.
